definition standard of cool
I know that somewhere in the past decade I came across a tweet that captured the following sentiment:
My new definition of cool is that when we are together I never see your phone ever ever
This is a paraphrase, but associated with the memory is the unusual emphatic phrasing. I have not been able to track this down for proper sourcing,1 but it seems increasingly relevant and poignant, particularly as my children age and I fail to meet this standard.
Update: I found it:
My new standard of cool: when I'm hanging out with you, I never see your phone ever ever ever.

It was blogged by Kottke, who is at least Daring-Fireball-adjacent.

I thought I read it on daringfireball.net, but no amount of searching has turned it up. ↩
